The Holtkamper Astro is a two berth model in the Combi-Camp stlye, with the top of the trailer pivoting over to form the floor of the bedroom / living area. The awning / sun canopy is then set up on a couple of adjustable L shaped poles, thereby ensurng an extremely rapid setup. In fact the entire Astro, including sun canopy, can be set up in under a minute, as can be seen in the videos below.

 

There is, also, a zip on annex, providing a further two berth sleeping area.

 

The Astro trailer is an extremely sporty design, and is particularly well suited to off road and rough terrain camping, especially with its ultra fast setup. The main bed, in this model, is quite high, and this is partly due to the 1,000 litres of storage space underneath its slatted base. It has an extremely high payload of 500kg, due, in the main, to this rugged construction and design.

 

The Astro is equiped with the Holtkamper Membrane Airco Tent System, a patented system for controlling ventilation, insulation and condensation. The system featured a kind of 'climate chanber' between the two roof layers, providing insulation in the heat and cold, and preventing condensation.

 

The Astro comes with choice of kitchens, which are mounted on the A frame, when in transit. It is available in two main versions; The Astro S, which comes with integrated sun canopy, and the Astro XL, which comes with full awning and ground sheet.

 

Other models that are similar in design to the Astro include the majority of the Combi-Camp range, the Raclet Solena and Comanche Montana.

 

Further information on this model can be found on the Astro Page on the Holtkamper web site. Interestingly, the official 2016 UK Price list and brochure, produced in conjunction with Black Country Caravans (sole UK distributors) does not show the Astro, implying it is a Europe only model.
