Model Summary:
Unit Type:
The Holtkamper Kyte is the top of the Holtkamper range, with prices starting from a mind numbing £17,195, making it, possibly,
the most expensive trailer tent currently on the market. Part of the reason for this is the extremely innovative design, which incorporates
an awning with no vertical poles whatsoever. The carbon fibre 'mast' extends out from the main roof poles, and supports the entire
awning roof (see videos below). This arrangement is both extremely strong, and extremely light. It also gives the trailer tent its
distinctive look, from which its name is derived.
The Kyte also features a comprehensively equiped kitchen, sewn in ground sheet
and the revolutionary Windforce System, as standard, which automatically erects and packs away the trailer tent. You can see this
in action, on a Holtkamper Kyte on the
Windforce Page of the Holtkamper web site.
The Kyte is equiped with the Holtkamper
Membrane Airco Tent System, a patented system for controlling ventilation, insulation and condensation. The system featured a
kind of 'climate chanber' between the two roof layers, providing insulation in the heat and cold, and preventing condensation.
Storage
on the Kyte is huge, with 1,500 litres under the lift up bed, alone, and, virtualy, the whole trailer being available for storage.
The Pack And go system means that you can access the under bed storage, without having to set the whole unit up. Unfortunately, in
spite of its huge storage space, the Kyte has the least load capacity of all of the Holtkamper models. Like all its siblings, it has
a gross weight of 750kg, but, with a net weight of 500kg, this only gives a payolad of 250kg. Whilt this is still highly respectable,
it is just half of the entry level Astro.
The Kyte comes in a couple of variants; the S and the XL. They are both very
similar, however, the XL features a slightly larger living space. Both models are extendable using the Kidstents annexes.
Included
in the Paperwork section above is the current sales brochure for the Kyte, as well as the latest 2016 price list. There are a number
of videos of the Kyte, below, including three from Holtkamper, themselves, which, of course, are all in Dutch, and one of our own
walk around video, filmed at the NEC Camping, Caravan & Motorhome Show, in February 2016.
Further details on this model can
be found on the
Kyte Page of the Holtkamper web site.

Videos
The first three videos were all produced by Holtkamper, themselves, and, consequently, are all in Dutch, however, they give a reasonable
overall idea of the look and feel of the model. The last video is our own, from February 2016, at the NEC.
