The Jamet Dakota is particularly stylish model, with curved front awning, much like many of the current
Cabanon models. In the
dimensions above, the top figures, where applicable, represent the pre 2016 models, with the lower figures representing current specifications.
The
current version of the Dakota is known as the Dakota AS, which means All Season, due to its use of acrylic canvas, as opposed to the
more traditional cotton canvases of most other manufacturers. This significantly improve its insulation properties, allows
it to shed water more effectively and makes it easier to clean. The only minor disadvantage, when compared to cotton canvas models
is that ventilation is not as effective with the acrylic canvases.
The large front awning has a zip off front panel, which can
be fully removed, should the weather permit. It also comes with an awning extension, and additional sleeping annex. The awning also
features a zip in ground sheet.
There are zipped windows, giving access to each bedroom, and, below, are more zipped panels,
to the under bed storage areas. Each of these can be converted to a single bed, through the use of the optional single bed pods.
The
Dakota comes with a comprehensive kitchen, with pumped water, three burner hob (no grill) and plenty of storage space. It is rear
mounted for easy acess / usage, on brief layby stopovers, en route.
The beds are both fully slatted, with plenty of storage underneath.
UK
pricing is difficult to ascertain, as the Camperlands web site currently shows the entire Jamet range as; "POA", however, in Europe,
the 2016 Dakota model retails at around the 6,200 Euro mark.
The Jamet range are well known for their distinctive blue and
burgundy livery, however, images 2 and 3, below, show the 2010 to 2015 colours, whilst the last three pictures show the new for 2016
interior and exterior colour schemes.
Included in the Paperwork section above are the generic manual, for the entire Jamet range,
as well as sales brochures for 2010 and the current, 2016, brochure.
