The Jamet Jametic is another stylish model from Jamet. It is a pram hood style trailer tent, in very much the
Camp-let style,
although, unlike the Camp-lets, in its standard format, it is a two berth model, with seating area adjacent to the bed. This seating
area can be converted to a second double bed, using the optional conversion kit (in much the same way as the central area of a
Trigano
Olympe). In Picture 3 above, we see the area on the left has been made up using the optional bed conversion it. In Picture 4, it remains
in its standard format of seating / central floor area. Because the awning canvas is integral to the main trailer canvas, it can all
be opened out and set up in a couple of minutes, plus pegging out time. The model sizes have changed very little over the years, and
across the range, with just an extra 5cm bed length in the newer models.
There are various versions of the Jametic.
In the UK, the main version is the Jametic Classic, although a version was produced to mark the 40th anniversary of the brand. this
was called the Jametic Outdoor Jubilee. Current versions available (mostly in Europe) include the Jametic Outdoor AS, the curve fronted
Jametic Panorama and the Jametic All Season. The AS / All Season models are so called due to their use of acrylic canvas,
as opposed to the more traditional cotton canvases of most other manufacturers. This significantly improve its insulation
properties, allows it to shed water more effectively and makes it easier to clean. The only minor disadvantage, when compared to cotton
canvas models is that ventilation is not as effective with the acrylic canvases.
The large front awning has a zip off front panel,
which can be fully removed, should the weather permit. It also comes with an awning extension, and additional sleeping annex. The
awning also features a zip in ground sheet.
Storage is not massive in this unit, as, to be fair, it isn't in the like of main
competitors; Camp-let, but there is a zipped access to an under bed storage area under the main bed.
The Jametic comes with
a comprehensive kitchen, with pumped water, three burner hob (no grill) and plenty of storage space. It is rear mounted for easy acess
/ usage, on brief layby stopovers, en route.
UK pricing is difficult to ascertain, as the Camperlands web site currently shows
the entire Jamet range as; "POA", however, in Europe, the 2016 Jametic models retail from around the 5,995 Euro mark
up to around 6,750 Euros.
The Jamet range are well known for their distinctive blue and burgundy livery, in the UK, however,
some of the colour schemes for the various European models are, also, shown below. Note the distinctive curved front of the Jametic
Panorama, in the blue and white livery.
Included in the Paperwork section above are the generic manual, for the entire Jamet
range, as well as sales brochures for 2010 and the current, 2016, brochure.
