Model Summary:
Unit Type:
The Sunncamp Holiday range is comprised of a number of models, each containing the word 'holiday', followed by a number (representing the awning depth in cm) and either 'S', or 'SE'.
The Holidays are, normally, thought of as an entry level model. This is not down to build quality, but, more, equipment levels, which, by modern standards are, relatively, basic. The SE model does include a kitchen which is basic, but functional, but neither model includes items such as additional internal storage (under seat lockers are provided) or zip in ground sheet. In spite of this entry level reputation, owner satisfaction appears to be very high and resale prices remain bouyant.
Most Holidays are distinguished by their protruding kitchen area on the right hand side (viewed from the front). Early models were, primarily produced in green and white or blue and white, with later, acrylic, models being, primarily a two tone grey and white. All models seem to have shared the same geometrical patterned curtains and soft furnishings, throughout their life, making them a little difficullt to date, based, purely, on outward appearance.
The Holiday 400 appears to have been the most prolific of the Holiday range, with, as the name suggest, an awning depth of 400cm, and an overall width of 420cm. It was one of the last three steel poled Holiday models in production, survived only by the 240 and 550 models.
The 400 seems to have, effectively, replaced the earlier 350 models, although there was a degree of overalp, between the two models. Early 400 models were introduced in the distinctive green, blue and yellow colour scheme, of the 350 (Pictures 1 and 2). The next development of the range gave two colour options; blue and cream or green and cream. It also saw the introduction of the easily recognisable geometric patterns on the curtains and soft furnishings. (Pictures 3 - 6). The last of the cotton fabric canvases was produced in a blue and white combination, with navy blue trim. (Picture 7). In 2010, the 400 was, actually, available in both the cotton canvas fabric, and the acrylic fabric. By 2012, there were only three remaining Holiday models; the 240, the 400 and the 550. Of these, the 400 was the only model to feature the new acrylic canvas, which came in a two tone grey colour scheme, with dark grey trim. This version was, relatively, short lived, and, by 2014, only the 240 and the 550 remained.
Included in the Paperwork section, above, are a couple of Sales Brochures, from 2010 and 2012, for all of the trailer tent models of the time, including the 400, as well as a copy of the setup instructions for the 240 range (as we do not, yet, have a set of instructions for the 400 models). The setup procedures for all models were very similar, apart from the pole structure of the kitchen annex. A copy of the entire pole structure for the Holiday 400 is, also, included below.
At the bottom right of the page, we have two videos of the Holiday 400. One of these videos is a 40 second walk around, from Campers & Leisure Limited, the other is a short, owner produced, time lapse slideshow of a Holiday 400 being taken down.
