In late 2016, Trigano added the Oztrail range of trailer tents to their list of models.
These models are, quite simply, re branded
versions of the Australian Oztrail range. Other than the names, there is no difference. Their differentiating property is that they
are based on a totally standard trailer unit, and can be removed, in order to allow the trailer to be used as a totally standard load
carrying unit, when the tent is not in use. When required, the tent is simply fixed back on to the tralier, ready to go.
The
Quest comes in two versions; the Quest 500 and the Quest 750. Each of these has exactly the same box dimensions of 195x115x36cm, however
the 500 and 750 relates to their maximum gross weight. Consequently, the 750 is braked, whilst the 500 is unbraked. As a result, there
is a longer A frame on the 750, which explains the difference in length, shown above. Talking of which, where relevant, in the Dimensions
section above, the top figures represent the Quest 500, and the bottom figures, the Quest 750. All other specifications are the
same for both models.
In its basic format, the Quest is a two berth model. It does, however, come with a full awning, making
it suitable, also, for small families. Because it is manufactured in Australia, thermal insulation is a key feature, and these models
all use the Insulcell system to achieve this.
The tent part of the unit sits on top of the trailer. It is opened out in a Combi-Camp
/ pram hood style method, leaving the bed in place, on top of the trailer. Access to the main trailer storage are is by its rear
door, or by lifting up the mattress and access hatch beneath.
In the Paperwork section, above, is a copy of the current Oztrail
manual. There appears to be nothing available, from Trigano, as of yet, so this is the original Australian manual. However, as stated
above, the models are totally identical, other than the names.
There are two videos, below. The first is our own walk around
video, taken at the Quest's Motorhome And Caravan Show debut, in October 2016. The second is a standard Oztrail assembly video, by
Trigano. The model featured, here, is, actually, a Zenith, but all aspects of the assembly are identical.
